Summer Reading Challenge 2015

This year’s Summer Reading Challenge theme is Record Breakers, so who better to team up with than the champion of record-breaking achievements, Guinness World Records who inspire and celebrate personal bests. And what better way for your child to challenge themselves than to get involved with Record Breakers this summer!

Children can sign up from Saturday 25th July and we’re sure they’ll have fun exploring the wacky and wonderful records on this year’s collector’s poster – there’s a whole load to discover! Children will be given the collector’s poster on their first visit and as in previous years each following visit they’ll get a new sticker to add to the poster as well as other Record Breaker themed goodies. Plus once they complete the challenge which consists of reading 6 books during the summer holidays, children will be invited to an awards presentation with the Mayor of Douglas.

We’ll be hosting workshops throughout August for children signed up to the Summer Reading Challenge; more information about these workshops will be in the sign up bags, tickets will be £1. Don’t forget that if your child would like to join up to the Summer Reading Challenge they must first be a member of the library.
