Shakespeare Week - 16th - 22nd March 2015

Shakespeare Week is coordinated by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, and is a national annual celebration giving primary aged children a great first encounter with Shakespeare’s life, works and times in a fun and engaging way. Join in the fun from 16 – 22 March 2015.

We have a display of Shakespeare's work on the ground floor in the children's area as well as fun activity sheets and a Shakespeare Trail where some of the characters from the film Unwillingly to School and some of the animals from Shakespeare plays are hidden around the library. All entries for the Shakespeare Trail will go into a draw to win a prize!

To see the short film 'Unwillingly to School' about William Shakespeare as a boy click here. You can explore the story further at the library.

Shakespeare Week in libraries is a partnership between The Society of Chief Librarians, The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, The Association of Children’s and Education Librarians, The Reading Agency and the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals. Produced by Blue Sky Film & Media.
