Henry Bloom Noble Exhibition

As part of the Library’s programme of events and activities in support of Island of Culture 2014, The Henry Bloom Noble Trust has very kindly lent us a wonderful exhibition about our namesake.

HBN2

From hospitals to football fields, libraries and churches, one man’s name is synonymous across the Isle of Man with wealth, charity and kindness. The story of his remarkable life and fortune is quite literally one of rags to riches, and the impact of his benevolent legacy can still be felt today, over a century after his death in Douglas. So who was Henry Bloom Noble, and what has been the impact of his trust?

This exhibition, created to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Henry Bloom Noble Trust, explores the life and history of the man who started it all.
