Rhythm and Rhyme

July sees the Henry Bloom Noble Library continue its support of Island of Culture 2014, and embracing this month’s theme of Rhythm and Rhyme.

Rhythm and Rhyme

The ground floor sees the return of the ‘Poet-Tree’, the work of local artist, Karl Garrett, and we will be asking you to tell us your favourite music to dance to.

There will be displays on all floors of World War 1 poetry, in keeping with the Island of Culture’s efforts to mark this important centenary. On Wednesday 2nd July, at 11am, Matthew Richardson, curator of Social History at MNH, will be giving a talk entitled ‘This terrible ordeal : the Isle of Man in the First World War’. Tickets for this event are free and can be collected from the ground floor counter.
