Young People

Whether you’re studying for your exams or looking for the latest YA novel, the library can help.

  • The library has PCs on the ground and lower ground floor and if you have a library card it's easy to book one. We also have two Macs on the ground floor. You can check your emails, type up school/college work or look at your favourite sites. Your card entitles you to have 2 free hours every day or you can access our wifi if you prefer to use your own device.
  • The quiet study area is on the lower ground floor with ample space to spread out and charging points. Please remember to put your mobile phones on silent before entering the library.
  • Libraries contain lots of useful information – e.g. how to write CVs and what to do at a job interview. We also have books and information on subjects like health, money and where to go for advice as well as stuff on music, sport, other hobbies and leisure interests.
  • The library has a collection of novels by popular teenage authors, from Suzanna Collins and Rainbow Rowell to John Green and Charlie Higson.
  • We also have lots of graphic novels including everyone's favourite superheroes.
  • If coming into the library isn’t your thing, why not use our digital library in which you will find not only YA books but a selection of general fiction and autobiographies which can be downloaded as eBooks or audiobooks.
