The library has books to suit every child; from joke books to geography books and funny books to scary books you’ll be spoilt for choice!

  • Beginner readers will find a wide variety of easy to read books.
  • For fluent readers there are stories to suit all tastes, from Eoin Colfer to Jacqueline Wilson, from the classics, to new novels from the best of today's children's authors.
  • The library has a range of non-fiction books too, to help with your homework, learn magic tricks to amaze your friends, find out fantastic facts from the Horrible Histories series, or read poetry and tell jokes.
  • If you’re a reluctant reader or enjoy listening to stories, we have lots of audiobooks for you to borrow. These can be a great distraction during long journeys!
  • Check out the children and teens section in our digital library for audio or eBooks you can download for free.
  • If you can’t find the book you want ask a member of staff, we are always happy to help you find your favourite authors and books, and will try to answer any questions you may have.
  • During the summer holidays take part in our ever-popular Summer Reading Challenge.

Things to do

Regular events are held at the library which are great fun. We have had visits from authors including Tom Palmer, Holly Webb and Curtis Jobling and we hold craft sessions to suit the season. Keep checking the homepage for details on what's coming soon.
