Closure of Henry Bloom Noble Library due to bereavement

Following the sad passing of a long-serving member of the Henry Bloom Noble Library staff, Miss Sharon Scott, after an illness bravely fought, the library will close at 2pm on Friday, February 10 as a mark of respect and to allow her colleagues, officers and Members of Douglas Borough Council to attend Miss Scott’s funeral that afternoon.
Sharon Scott passed away on Tuesday, January 31. She had completed 23 years’ service with the Council and was a much valued member of the library team. She will be sadly missed by her library colleagues and all at Douglas Borough Council who are united in wishing to convey their heartfelt condolences to Miss Scott’s mother, family and friends.
Douglas Borough Council apologises for any inconvenience the library’s closure may cause but would ask members of the public for their forbearance at this difficult time. The Henry Bloom Noble Library will be open as usual on Saturday, February 11 from 9.15am to 4pm.
